CEO & CO-FOUNDER
About Prateek Agarwal
The Leader Behind Visionary Achievers Foundation
Visionary Achievers Foundation is led by someone who has already achieved what many believed was impossible.
Prateek Agarwal is the CEO and Co-Founder of Visionary Achievers Foundation, India’s first blind IT entrepreneur, a globally recognised AI and Machine Learning expert, founder of a global IT firm, multiple award-winning entrepreneur, and mentor to business leaders around the world. Over the last decade, he has helped organisations across more than 20 countries solve complex business problems through technology while building successful businesses and mentoring entrepreneurs.
His professional success is only one part of his story.
The Road to Entrepreneurship
Prateek was born with complete vision loss.
Growing up, studying was never as straightforward as picking up a textbook and reading. Many books were not available in Braille, so family members, teachers, and friends often read lessons aloud while he listened, memorised, and made his own notes. Preparing for examinations took much longer because finding accessible study material was a challenge in itself.
His interest in technology led him to study Computer Science Engineering. At that time, accessible software was limited and many people questioned whether a blind student could succeed in such a technical field. Writing programs meant learning to use screen readers, keyboard shortcuts, and other assistive tools while classmates worked with software designed for sighted users.
Completing his engineering degree was a proud moment.
Finding a job was not.
Several companies rejected him because they doubted whether a blind engineer could do the work. Interviews often shifted away from his qualifications and towards his disability. Before he had the chance to demonstrate his technical skills, decisions had already been made.
Those experiences led him to make a different choice.
Instead of waiting for an opportunity, he decided to build one.
He founded what would later become a global IT firm. Winning clients was not easy in the beginning. Every successful project earned another client’s trust and challenged another assumption about what a blind entrepreneur could achieve. Today, the company serves organisations in more than 20 countries and has delivered technology solutions across a wide range of industries.
Why Visionary Achievers Foundation?
As Prateek’s business grew, so did the number of people who reached out to him.
- Students wanted advice on continuing their education.
- Young professionals asked how they could build a career.
- Parents wanted to know what opportunities existed for their children.
- Teachers wanted guidance on making learning more accessible.
The conversations were different, but the challenges were familiar because Prateek had lived many of them himself.
That is how Visionary Achievers Foundation came into existence.
The Foundation works to improve access to education, assistive technology, digital skills, career guidance, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities for blind and visually challenged individuals. Every initiative is designed to help people become more independent and confident while creating opportunities that were often difficult to find.
Looking Ahead
Today, Prateek continues to lead his global technology business while serving as the CEO of Visionary Achievers Foundation.
His work as an entrepreneur gives the Foundation practical direction. It also keeps him connected to the changing world of technology, business, and artificial intelligence so that the Foundation can prepare people with skills that are relevant today and valuable for the future.
He believes that talent is everywhere. Opportunity should be too.
